BATON ROUGE, La. – Over the course of the last two weeks, members of the LSU Tiger softball team made a pair of visits to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, spending the day with the patients and staff of the hospital as a part of the team’s ongoing community efforts.
Taking time away from studying and practice, the team brought a host of items including 2014 schedule posters and cards, banners, flags and an assortment of items for the children of the hospital, while also spending time with the families of the patients and taking a tour of the facility.
"As it was all our first time to visit the Children's Hospital, yesterday was especially moving,” senior outfielder Jacee Blades said. “Not only did the children change our perspective and put smiles on our faces but it was truly incredible and indescribable to see the love and positive attitude the parents and families had for their children."
LSU returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to face Nicholls at 6 p.m. in Thibodaux, before heading for a two-game set against the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.
