BATON ROUGE – Several LSU gymnasts along with volunteer assistant coach Ashleigh Clare-Kearney visited Girl Scout Daisy Troop 10970 at Episcopal Lower Elementary School on Thursday.

Mckenzie Fox, Michelle Gauthier, Shonacee Oliva, Casey Duvall, Lainie Fleming and Clare-Kearney spoke to the troop about the value of working hard, exercising and eating healthy.

The gymnasts fielded questions from the girl scouts, passed out signed team posters and even did a demonstration of different leaps and tumbling in gymnastics, including a handstand contest.

“Being able to spend time with the Girl Scouts at Episcopal during season was amazing,” Gauthier said. “We were able to answer their questions, teach them the importance of health and exercise, and even show them some skills. Their fascination was adorable.”

No. 3 LSU (5-1) travels to Fort Worth, Texas for the Metroplex Challenge on Saturday. The Tigers will face No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 17 Arizona and Kentucky at 7 p.m. CT in the Fort Worth Convention Center.
