LSU Athletics Recognizes 3.0 Student-Athletes
BATON ROUGE – The LSU Athletics Department recognized 183 of its student-athletes for achieving a 3.0 or higher GPA during the fall semester at a recent men's basketball home game.
The 183 student-athletes were greeted on the court by Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva along with Chancellor/President F. King Alexander. The initiative to honor the student-athletes was led by LSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
“We're extremely proud of the successes that our student-athletes achieve on and off the court,” Jade Bryan, Associate Director of the Shaquille O'Neal Lifeskills Program, said. “The event was a great way for the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes to highlight the 183 student-athletes that achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA in the fall. Our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is excited to start a new tradition that will recognize the impressive accomplishments that our student-athletes are obtaining in the classroom.”
