Nominee for SEC Player of the Week

Theresa Plaisance, F, 6-5, Sr., New Orleans, Louisiana
Plaisance racked up 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game fueled by a pair of double-doubles. LSU was one of three SEC teams to complete a 2-0 week and moved up into a third-place tie in the SEC standings. She connected on 51.6 percent of her shots and has amassed double figures in 10 consecutive games. Plaisance matched a season-high 19 points during the Auburn game before she poured in a season’s best 23 points at Ole Miss. Her 11 rebounds versus Auburn enabled Plaisance to become the 18th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds.

Nominee for SEC Freshman of the Week

Raigyne Moncrief, G, 5-10, Fr., Fort Lauderdale, Florida 
Moncrief turned in a balanced 10.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists per week. The Lady Tigers were one of three SEC teams to post multiple league wins last week. She was 50.0 percent from the field. Moncrief racked up 15 points against Auburn, her highest scoring output in SEC play, before she picked up five points, five steals and nine rebounds at Ole Miss.

Notes on the Tigers
No. 15 LSU defeated Auburn and Ole Miss by double digits last week to improve to 16-4, 5-2 in SEC play. The Lady Tigers moved up into a three-way tie with Tennessee and Vanderbilt for third place in the SEC standings. In both games, LSU used key second half runs. The Lady Tigers put together a 19-4 spurt versus Auburn followed by scoring the last nine points of the Ole Miss game. LSU was paced by Theresa Plaisance, the SEC’s Player of the Week. She poured in 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. The New Orleans native posted consecutive double-doubles for the second time in her career and became the 18th player in program history to reach the 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds milestone. Plaisance garnered a season’s best 23 points during the Lady Tigers 66-56 win over Ole Miss. Shanece McKinney came away with 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. She posted double figures in back-to-back games for the third time this season. She garnered eight of her 10 points in the second half at Ole Miss. Raigyne Moncrief tacked on 10.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. The freshman guard ended a stretch of six straight games without 10-plus points with a 15-point outburst during the Auburn game. She picked up nine rebounds, five points and five steals versus Ole Miss. Jeanne Kenney posted 9.5 points and 4.5 assists per game. She has distributed 38 of her 75 assists over her last eight outings. Danielle Ballard has pieced together three straight 10-plus performances and has averaged 13.0 points per game on SEC Sundays. LSU plays host to Mississippi State [Thursday – 7 p.m. CT on Cox Sports Television] before returning to the road to square off with Kentucky [Sunday – 12 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Network/SportSouth].
