BATON ROUGE – The second-ranked LSU gymnastics team will square off against Southeastern Conference rival and 14th-ranked Auburn in the SEC home opener at 7 p.m. CT Friday inside the Maravich Center.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early because the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free LSU “Roaring 4 More” t-shirt. Maravich Center doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets to the meet are still available for purchase by logging on to http://www.lsutix.net/, calling the LSU Ticket Office at 225-578-2184 or by visiting the ticket office in person on the first floor of the LSU Athletics Administration Building.

Tickets will also be on sale at the Maravich Center prior to the meet at a cost of $5 for adults and $3 for youth ages 3-12.

LSU (1-1, 0-1 SEC) enters the meet against Auburn after scoring a solid 196.875 at Georgia last week, while Auburn (1-1, 0-1) is coming off a 196.225 effort at home against Florida.

“Auburn is a good team with great coaching,” LSU head coach D-D Breaux said. “We are excited to have them here. They upset us last year in Auburn, so we are looking for an opportunity to get that back.

“There is a great amount of excitement about competing in front of our home crowd, and the team is eager to get back in our arena and put together a solid meet.”

LSU is paced by junior all-arounders Rheagan Courville and Jessie Jordan, who enter the meet ranked second and fifth in the nation, respectively, in the all-around standings. Courville is also ranked in the Top 25 nationally on vault, bars and beam, while Jordan is ranked on bars and beam.

Senior Sarie Morrison is ranked third nationally on vault and fourth on bars, sophomore Jessica Savona is 10th on floor and junior Britney Ranzy is 22nd on vault.

Last week at Georgia, the Tigers also received contributions in the lineups from Kaleigh Dickson, Ashleigh Gnat, Michelle Gauthier, Lloimincia Hall and Maliah Mathis.

Auburn is led by sophomore Caitlin Atkinson, who is ranked 11th nationally on vault, 22nd on bars and 23rd on floor. Junior Bri Guy is ranked fifth on vault and 19th on floor, and junior Megan Walker is seventh nationally on beam.
