BATON ROUGE -- LSU baseball players Joe Broussard and Danny Zardon participated this week in the 5th Annual Dreams Come True Radiothon.

Broussard, a junior pitcher from Gretna, La., and Zardon, a freshman infielder from Pembroke Pines, Fla., worked in the phone bank and took calls from listeners wishing to make donations to the Dreams Come True Foundation.

Dreams Come True was founded for the sole purpose of providing dreams to children in the Baton Rouge area with life-threatening illnesses.

“I thoroughly want to thank the people who run the foundation and also the donors for all that they do, it means a lot to me,” Broussard said.

Last year, the organization raised enough money to grant wishes for 64 critically-ill children.
