Men's Tennis 24th in ITA Preseason Rankings

BATON ROUGE - The LSU men's tennis team landed at No. 24 in the preseason rankings released Thursday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

LSU returns four letter winners from last year's squad, including sophomores Boris Arias, Harrison Kennedy and Tam Trinh, as well as junior Chris Simpson.

Simpson checked in at No. 72 in the singles rankings. In doubles, the team of Trinh and redshirt freshman Eric Perez was listed as No. 46 in doubles, while the team of Simpson and Arias ranked at 60.

In the Southern rankings, Simpson ranked No. 6 while sophomore Andrew Korinek ranked at No. 20 in singles. In doubles, Trinh and Perez checked in at No. 3 while the pair of Simpson and Arias landed at No. 7.

LSU will take part in the Key Biscayne Collegiate Invitational Sunday through Tuesday and will officially open the dual season on Jan. 19 at noon CT in Houston against Rice at George R. Brown Tennis Complex.
