BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s basketball game with Rhode Island this Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Pete Maravich Center, will now tip off at 4:30 p.m. to allow fans to see both the LSU basketball game and get home in time to watch the New Orleans Saints football team’s opening round playoff game.

The LSU men’s game was originally set for 7 p.m., the same time as the Saints nationally-televised wild card game at Philadelphia.

The move will allow for maximum exposure and availability for the game both in person and on TV for the LSU Tigers who are on a five-game winning streak, are 9-2 overall and will be playing their final non-conference game prior to the Southeastern Conference opener at home on Tuesday (Jan. 7) at 6 p.m.

All parties involved signed off on the change, including televising entity Cox Sports TV, which has agreed to put the regional broadcast on live at 4:30 p.m. The LSU Sports Radio Network will also have coverage of the game, but in Baton Rouge the game will be broadcast on WTGE 100.7 FM.

Tickets for the game are available online at LSUtix.net and beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday at the upper concourse ticket windows. Follow LSU Basketball on Facebook at www.facebook.com/LSUBasketball and on Twitter @LSUBasketball.
