AUSTIN, Texas. — Sophomore Cassie Weil is moving on to the final of the women’s 3-meter springboard after a ninth place finish. Weil tallied 526.30 points for the day after a quarterfinal score of 266.60 and a sixth place finish.

“Cassie placed herself in the nation’s elite by qualifying for the finals in the women’s 3-meter,” LSU Diving coach Doug Shaffer said. “She was very steady and consistent today and posted very solid performances in the prelims and semifinals. She has room to improve and is in a great position to have her best performance in the finals on Sunday.”

Weil is the final LSU diver competing at the winter championships. It will conclude a week where three Tiger dives made the finals of the senior US diving event.
