BATON ROUGE - Kydani Dover, Manager for Student Learning and Learning Specialist, has been chosen to represent the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes (CCACSA) at LSU’s LEAD Emerge program.

LEAD Emerge is LSU’s leadership development program for new supervisors, candidates for promotion to a supervisory position and current supervisors desiring professional and personal development. The program focuses on building and enhancing leadership skills which support the University’s strategic objectives and flagship agenda.

“I am honored and excited to participate in LSU’s LEAD Emerge program in the spring,” Dover said. “With the guidance of the program facilitators, I believe that this will be a dynamic learning experience that will allow me to better lead and successfully support my colleagues, students and the programs that CCACSA has to offer. I plan to maximize the opportunity by listening to the unique experiences of the other program participants, gaining the knowledge I need to grow professionally and applying what I learn to my current role at CCACSA. I appreciate every opportunity for growth and professional development.  I am grateful for the support of my direct supervisor, Dr. Louise Bodack, who nominated me in addition to the CCACSA team as I embark on this new and undoubtedly rewarding experience.”

Using self-awareness as a catalyst for professional improvement, the program incorporates a combination of individual and group experiential exercises to further build participants' competencies. Program participation provides a comprehensive view of their personal preferences and style. It exposes participants to new concepts regarding leadership and management.

“At the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, we are not only committed to the total development and growth of our student-athletes but of our staff as well. I nominated Ms. Dover for LEAD Emerge to further develop her leadership skills, which will undoubtedly assist her as she grows professionally,” Bodack said. “We are excited that she will be able to partake in this intensive and educative training and development opportunity.”

The CCACSA has had a member of its staff selected for the LSU LEAD Emerge program during each of the last three years.
