No. 12 Lady Tigers Set to Face Florida Gulf Coast

BATON ROUGE -- The LSU women’s basketball team seeks to extend its winning streak to seven games when Florida Gulf Coast University visits Baton Rouge at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the PMAC.

After a 12-day break, LSU (8-1) won its sixth straight contest after overcoming a nine-point first-half deficit at the University of Arkansas – Little Rock. LSU is ranked 12th this week in the Associated Press poll.

Senior forward Theresa Plaisance had a double-double in Little Rock with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Plaisance leads the team in rebounds averaging 7.4 rebounds per game.

Freshman guard Raigyne Moncrief scored 11 points and at UALR. Moncrief leads LSU in scoring with an average of 14.1 points per game and total steals, with 25.

Senior forward Shanece McKinney tallied six points, five rebounds and one block at UALR. McKinney leads the team in blocks with 13.

Florida Gulf Coast (5-3) is coming off of a 12-day break after defeating the University of South Florida in a 60-55 win on December 4.
