Basketball Teams Visit Greek Houses
Communications Sr. Associate
BATON ROUGE – LSU basketball coaches Nikki Caldwell and Johnny Jones along with members of both teams visited several of the fraternity and sorority houses on the LSU campus encouraging them to be a part of the upcoming 2013-14 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.
Both coaches and players, which included Johnny O’Bryant III, Darcy Malone and Lady Tigers Theresa Plaisance and Anne Pedersen among others, talked to the groups at their weekly Sunday and/or Monday meetings about how student support helps the teams perform better and asking them to attend and bring their friends to the games this season.
Members of the Tiger Girls and Mike The Tiger appeared at the meetings as well and the coaches came bringing LSU basketball items for those who could answer trivia quiz questions.
The group went to Delta Chi, Theta Chi and Sigma Epsilon fraternities on Sunday and Sigma Nu and Kappa Sigma fraternities and Kappa Delta and Phi Mu sororities.
The LSU women’s basketball season plays exhibition games on Wednesday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.) while the men will play an exhibition game on Nov. 6 (7 p.m.). All games are at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and admission is free of charge for those three games.
