BATON ROUGE – A total of 14 LSU women’s basketball games during the 2013-14 season have been picked up for television broadcasts highlighted by the Lady Tigers’ “Play 4K Game” against South Carolina on ESPN2 on Sunday, Feb. 16, in the Maravich Center.
That contest, formerly known as the “Pink Game,” will tipoff at 2:30 p.m. CT. LSU’s other ESPN family of networks appearance comes on ESPNU when the Lady Tigers host Florida at noon CT on Sunday, Jan. 12.
LSU is slated for three appearances on Fox Sports Net New Orleans with all three of those contests being road games: at Vanderbilt (Jan. 19), at Kentucky (Feb. 2) and at Texas A&M (Feb. 9).
Both of the Lady Tigers’ showdowns with Tennessee will once again be televised this season by CSS and CST. LSU opens Southeastern Conference play in Knoxville against the Lady Vols at 6 p.m. CT on Jan. 2. Tennessee returns the trip to Baton Rouge for the Lady Tigers’ final regular season game on Feb. 27, which will now tip at 8 p.m. CT.
Six LSU games this season will be televised by CST, including non-conference tilts against Florida Gulf Coast (Dec. 17) and Jackson State (Dec. 30). The Jackson State contest in the Maravich Center will now tipoff at 8 p.m. CT.
The Lady Tigers’ SEC home opener against Texas A&M on Thursday, Jan. 9 will now tipoff at 6 p.m. CT on CST.
The SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, scheduled for March 5-9 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga., will feature all 14 teams. The tournament, which had been a four-day event since 1992, expanded to five days last season with the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the league.
Fox Sports Net will televise all tournament games played Wednesday - Friday. The semifinals will be aired on ESPNU for the fifth consecutive year, while the championship game will move to ESPN from ESPN2.
