On-demand video of “Tiger Talk” presented by TJ Ribs is now available for free in the Geaux Zone. This month’s episode features LSU women’s basketball head coach Nikki Caldwell and senior associate athletic directors Verge Ausberry and Ronnie Haliburton, who reminisce about the 1988 LSU-Auburn “Earthquake Game.”
Caldwell, who enters her third season, previewed the Lady Tigers’ upcoming season after reaching the NCAA Sweet 16 last spring. She also discussed the team’s recent 12-day exhibition trip to Spain and the 5K Banana Relay Race they will host to help promote physical fitness on Oct. 6.
Ausberry and Haliburton were key contributors on LSU’s 1988 Southeastern Conference championship football team. The two will join former teammates this weekend in Tiger Stadium to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the memorable “Earthquake Game” when Tommy Hodson hit Eddie Fuller in the back of the endzone for the game-winning score on Oct. 8, 1988.
