Jones to Headline Charity Golf Tournament

BATON ROUGE – LSU men’s basketball head coach Johnny Jones will host the Johnny Jones Courts For Kids Golf Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the University Club Golf Course.
The proceeds from the tournament will benefit the 4511 Foundation, an organization founded by two former LSU Basketball players, Jack Warner and Brandon Landry, who now own a series of restaurants in South Louisiana. The Foundation founded in 2011 by the former players refurbishes basketball courts in local communities around Louisiana.
The foundation is named for the numbers won by Warner (45) and Landry (11) at LSU.
Jones, who is entering his second season as LSU’s basketball head coach, said of the event: “I’m honored (Jack and Brandon) asked me to partner with them on their foundation’s golf tournament, and I hope the Baton Rouge business community comes out and joins us for a fun day of golf, camaraderie and giving back.”
“There’s a tremendous need around Baton Rouge and our entire state for major upgrades to our public basketball courts,” said Warner.
Corporate sponsorships are available at various levels for the event. Team foursomes, while include lunch and dinner, ditty bags and the post-tournament awards ceremony, are priced at $900. Individual playing spots are $225. All entrants will also have a chance to be selected for the Million-Dollar Hole-In-One Shot.
Festivities on Oct. 29 begin at 11 a.m. with registration and lunch. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at Noon.
