BATON ROUGE – LSU freshman-to-be women’s golfer Carly Ray Goldstein captured the 100th title of her junior golf career Sunday when she rallied to win the Firecracker Open on the Platinum Tour’s Firecracker Open at the Inverrary Golf Course in Lauderhill, Fla.

Goldstein, from Coral Springs, Fla., posted a 4-under round of 67 in the final round of the 36-hole event to win the tournament at even par 142 (75-67). She finished five shots ahead  of first-round leader Diana Gonzalez of Miami, who finished at 147 (73-74).

Goldstein’s win caps off a big month of July for the LSU women’s golf team as three players – Nadine Dreher, Madelene Sagstrom, Caroline Nistrup -- helped their countries advance to the championship match play round in the European Women’s Amateur Team Championships, Lindsay Gahm successfully defended her women’s open title in Kentucky and Ali-Lucas and Elise Bradley went first-third in the Collegiate Players Tour event in Baton Rouge.
