BATON ROUGE – The 2012-13 LSU women’s basketball media guide was judged and voted second in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced on Tuesday.
The 208-page yearbook was written and edited by associate sports information director Bill Martin and designed by LSU Athletics Publications coordinator Krystal Bennett. Staff photographer Steve Franz and student photography assistants Chris Parent and Hilary Scheinuk provided the pictures for the guide.
The 2012-13 LSU women’s basketball media guide chronicles the history and tradition of Lady Tiger basketball as well as giving an updated view on the current team with biography information and off-the-court profiles. It also details the success of LSU since the arrival of head coach Nikki Caldwell – both on and off the court. Caldwell and her teams have been active in the city of Baton Rouge with numerous community service outings.
In addition, pages are devoted to LSU’s five NCAA Final Fours and the legacy of the late legendary coach Sue Gunter.
Media guides are a source of information for media outlets and fellow sports information/media relations offices. The judging is based on eight categories including team information, season in review, program history, general information, conference information, graphics and design and editorial. The guides are critiqued by three pre-selected judges from outside organizations.
