COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Game 2 of the LSU-Texas A&M series Friday night has been suspended due to heavy rain in the College Station area. The game was halted at approximately 8:30 p.m. with the Tigers holding a 7-2 lead, and officials decided to suspend the contest just after 11 p.m.
The suspended game will resume at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with LSU coming to bat in the top of the seventh inning. No inning of game 2 will start after 11 a.m. to allow for game 3 to start as scheduled.
Game 2 will not be televised, however, free live video of the conclusion will be available online via Texas A&M's "12thManTV." Because Texas A&M and LSU each partner with website provider NeuLion, this video will be shared in the Geaux Zone at www.LSUsports.net/live.
The completion of the suspended game can be heard on affiliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network and at LSUsports.net starting at 9:25 a.m. CT.
Game 3 of the series will start at noon Saturday, as originally scheduled. Game 3 will be a seven-inning game.
Saturday’s noon game will be televised by ESPN, and it can also be viewed at WatchESPN.com. The game will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network and at LSUsports.net with pregame starting at 11:30 a.m.
LSU struck for three runs in the second inning Friday night against Texas A&M starter Matt Kent. Second baseman JaCoby Jones delivered an RBI single, centerfielder Andrew Stevenson sacrificed a run home and designated hitter Sean McMullen belted an run-scoring double.
RBI singles by McMullen and by rightfielder Jared Foster highlighted a three-run fourth inning as LSU extended its lead to 6-0.
McMullen collected his third RBI of the game in the sixth with a double that scored Stevenson, who had singled with one out.
LSU starter Aaron Nola limited the Aggies to one earned run on six hits in six innings with no walk and four strikeouts.
