Sagstrom Leads Darius Rucker; Lady Tigers Second

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - LSU golfer Madelene Sagstrom surged to the individual lead with a 4-under par second round and LSU is in second just three shots off the lead after 36-holes of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Saturday at the Long Cove Club.

Sagstrom had five birdies in a round of 67 to open a three-shot advantage looking for her first collegiate victory. The Swedish sophomore stands at 4-under 138 (71-67) on the 6,211, par 71 course behind Noemi Jimenez of Arizona State (72-69 - 141, -1) and five ahead of Vanderbilt's Irina Gabasa at 1-over 143 (75-68).

Vanderbilt moved into the lead from fourth place after Friday's first round by shooting a 2-under 282 to stand at 10-over 578 (296-282). LSU had another solid, round with a 2-over 286 and stands at 13-over 581 (295-286). Alabama moved to third from a tie for fifth at 17-over 585 (297-288). It is six more shots back to first-round leader Arkansas who is at 23-over 591 after a 14-over 298.

The Lady Tigers' freshman, Elise Bradley, was also under par for the day with a 1-under 70 and her two-day total of 7-over 149 is good for a tie for 20th, a move of 32 places up the standings ladder from day one. Lindsay Gahm had a 2-over 73 and is also tied for 20th at 149, a move of 14 places up the leaderboard from round one.

Freshman Nadine Dreher had a 5-over 76 and is 8-over 150 and Ali Lucas is at 9-over 151 after a second round 77.

The three SEC schools, Vanderbilt, LSU and Alabama, will be paired together in the final round shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. EST (8:30 a.m. Baton Rouge time). The hole-by-hole live scoring of the final round can be found on LSUsports.net through Golfstatresults.com
