Rush Named Louisiana 'Broadcaster of the Year'

BATON ROUGE - Former LSU football standout and current sideline reporter for the LSU Sports Radio Network Gordy Rush has been named the "Broadcaster of the Year" by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters.
The "Broadcaster of the Year" award is given annually to the top owner or general manager in the state of Louisiana in either the radio or television industry. Rush also won the LAB's "Golden Mike Award" in 2009 given to making him the first person to receive both prestigious awards.
Rush just finished his second season as the sideline reporter for radio broadcasts of Tiger football games on the LSU Sports Radio Network. Rush, who also serves as the host for Inside LSU Football with Les Miles, played for the Tigers from 1988-90.
In addition to Rush's honor, Eagle 98.1 (WDGL-FM) was tabbed as the "Major Market Radio Station of the Year" for the third time in five years. Eagle 98.1 is the flagship station for LSU Sports and serves as the home for LSU football, men's basketball and baseball.
