BATON ROUGE - Four LSU student-athletes kicked off the month of March by reading to local children as part of the Read Across America and Read Across Louisiana events over the weekend.

Swimming and Diving's Timmy Dasinger and Football's Cleveland Davis read to the children at Buchanan Elementary School and Oak Grove Primary School, respectively, on Friday as part of Read Across America.

"I always love going to read at schools," Dasinger said. "The kids are always so engaged in the story, and it's great to see that focus in the classroom."

During Saturday's Read Across Louisiana Event, swimming and diving's Kaelee Mader along with track and field's Joseph Caraway spent part of her day reading to children ages 6-12 at the Mall of Louisiana.

"I enjoyed taking the time to read to the kids and getting them all excited about the Saint Who Dat book I read," Mader said.
