PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - After playing five holes in Tuesday's final round, heavy rains at Sawgrass Country Club forced the cancelation of the final round at this year's John Hayt Invitational as the 12th-ranked LSU men's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place with its team score of 11-over par 587 in 36 holes.

Monday's scores provide the official results of this year's championship as the Tigers have tied for fourth place with No. 7-ranked Florida, No. 14-ranked Arkansas and North Texas.

The 25th-ranked North Florida Ospreys defended their home course by firing team scores of 12-under 276 and 5-under 283 for a winning 36-hole score of 17-under par 559. No. 14-ranked Duke finished as the runner-up at 5-under par 571, followed by Central Florida in third place overall at 9-over par 585.

Sophomore Curtis Thompson finished as the top Tiger in the field by tying for 12th place with a two-round total of even-par 144, including a 1-under par in Sunday's opening round and a 1-over par 73 with Monday's second round.

Junior Andrew Presley and sophomore Myles Lewis each tied for 20th place on the leaderboard at 2-over par 146 in the event, while sophomore Stewart Jolly tied for 50th place at 7-over par 151 and junior Smylie Kaufman tied for 83rd place at 17-over par 161 in the final individual standings.

North Florida standout Kevin Phelan scored a four-shot individual victory over Osprey teammate Sean Dale with a winning 36-hole score of 13-under par 131.

The Tigers will return to action next week as they continue the 2013 spring season with an appearance at the 28th-annual Louisiana Classics hosted by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette for March 4-5 at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette. LSU is the two-time defending team champion in the event after claiming the crown in 2011 and 2012.
