BATON ROUGE -- For the second time in three years, an LSU men's basketball signee, Jarell Martin, has been named a McDonald's All-American and will play in the annual game April 3 in Chicago's United Center.

Present sophomore Johnny O'Bryant III played in the 2011 all-star game. Martin becomes the 15th McDonald's all-star from LSU.

Martin is a 6-9, 220 pound five-star signee from Madison Prep Academy in Baton Rouge and is one of 24 nationally selected for the honor.

He is the first Baton Rouge native since Glen Davis who was selected in 2004 with Tasmin Mitchell of Denham Springs selected the next year in 2005. The last Louisiana native to be selected for the game prior to Martin was in 2008.

Martin is presently averaging 25.3 points, 14.3 rebounds and 5 assists.
