LONG BEACH, Calif. - The LSU women's tennis team (4-0) will take on Long Beach State (2-1) Saturday at the Rhodes Tennis Center at 1 p.m. CT.
"We are excited for two tough matches on the road this weekend," head coach Julia S. Sell said. "We are going to be challenged by very different weather conditions and a much faster court surface. We had a great battle with Tulane, and we caught up on rest yesterday in preparation for a very good Long Beach State team."
LSU is coming off Wednesday's 4-2 road victory over Tulane. The doubles pair of Mary Jeremiah and Ariel Morton notched their third consecutive doubles win, which clinched the doubles point, and Morton scored her 25th career singles win for her second straight overall 2-0 day. Freshman Ella Taylor made her court two debut and tallied her fourth straight win, defending her undefeated record in dual match singles.
No. 46 LSU is undefeated against Long Beach State, and this will mark only the third matchup between the Lady Tigers and the 49ers, who they last met in 2009.
