Former Tigers to Hold Cancer Awareness Day

BATON ROUGE -- The 2 Seam Dream Foundation will holds its first Cancer Awareness Day Saturday in Alex Box Stadium. The foundation was created by former LSU pitcher Rick Greene to raise funds for cancer research.
Saturday's event includes a 4K walk and 5K run, food and drinks, auctions and raffles, a Home Run Derby and a softball game featuring current and former Major League Baseball players.
Current and former LSU Major Leaguers scheduled to appear at the event are: Kurt Ainsworth, Paul Byrd, Mike Fontenot, Mark Guthrie, Will Harris, Trey Hodges, Russ Johnson, Brandon Larson, Ben McDonald, Warren Morris, Armando Rios, Andy Sheets, Mike Sirotka, Ryan Theriot, Ryan Verdugo, Eddie Yarnall, Louis Coleman, Brett Laxton, Lyle Mouton, Chad Ogea and Todd Walker.
Other current and former MLB players scheduled to participate include Paul Bako, Aaron Boone, Reid Brignac, Jack Cressend, David Dellucci, Chad Durbin, Darryl Hamilton, Brooks Kieschnick, Gregg Olson, Marc Valdes and Frank Catalanotto.
Following is the schedule of events:
8 a.m. - 5K "pinch" run around the west side of the LSU campus starting and finishing at Alex Box Stadium
8:30 a.m. - 4K "intentional" walk from Gourrier Avenue to River Road to Skip Bertman Drive to Nicholson Drive and finishing at Alex Box Stadium
10:30 a.m. - Home Run Derby with former LSU stars
12 p.m. - Softball game with current and former Major League players
