BATON ROUGE - LSU men's basketball coach Johnny Jones will recap the exciting 72-67 win over Seton Hall and much more when he hosts the December "Tipoff Luncheon with Johnny Jones presented by Hub International" Tuesday at the L'Auberge Resort.
LSU All-American basketball star Durand "Rudy" Macklin, who played with Coach Jones on the 1981 NCAA Final Four team, will be the guest speaker. Macklin, the all-time leading rebounder in LSU history, is one of four LSU men's basketball players to be honored with their jerseys hanging from the Maravich Center rafters.
The L'Auberge Resort is off Nicholson Dr. south of the LSU campus. The luncheon will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet located on the main floor of the L'Auberge. The all-you-can-eat buffet charge is $13.95 per person.
The luncheon buffet is open to the public at 11:30 a.m. and the program will begin at approximately 12:10 p.m.
Macklin will speak about his time with the program, and his work today as head of the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and as one of the organizers of the Governor's Games, a premiere series of athletic sports events that takes place in the first half of each year.
The Tipoff Luncheons are held once-a-month at the L'Auberge and will feature Coach Jones and different basketball-related guest each month.
