BATON ROUGE - LSU gymnastics head coach D-D Breaux took first place at the third annual St. Vincent De Paul turkey carving contest Wednesday as part of a community service opportunity downtown.

It marks the second straight year Breaux has taken part in the contest, as last year she was joined by LSU gymnasts Rheagan Courville, Ericka Garcia and Randi Lau.

"It's an opportunity to be involved in the community with St. Vincent de Paul, and it's a great opportunity for LSU to participate in a community event that touches the underserved and others who rely on St. Vincent de Paul for their thanksgiving meal," Breaux said.

For 147 years St. Vincent de Paul has been helping needy families in the Baton Rouge community.
