BATON ROUGE - LSU's Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes has selected Dr. James Honeycutt for the BASF Professor of Excellence Award. He will be recognized during the LSU-Mississippi State football game this Saturday.
"We are truly enthusiastic and honored to recognize Dr. Honeycutt as a difference-maker and a steward of excellence," said Kenneth O. Miles, Assistant Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of the Cox Communications Center.
Dr. Honeycutt is a Professor of Communication at the LSU, internationally known for his work in relationship scripts and daydreaming. He has won numerous research awards including the Distinguished Book of the Year in 2006 by the social cognition division of the National Communication Association for his book on imagined interactions. Dr. Honeycutt is the author of several books on the subjects of relationships and imagined interactions. Dr. Honeycutt currently teaches classes at LSU focusing on emotion and communication, relationships, family dynamics.

This is BASF's first year to be the presenting sponsor of the Professor of Excellence award.
