Football Advances in Polls After Win; Sixth in BCS

BATON ROUGE -- Following a 23-21 win over then-No. 3 South Carolina, the LSU football team moved to No. 6 in the AP Top 25, the USA Today Coaches' Poll and the Harris Interactive Poll released Sunday.

LSU was also ranked No. 6 in the initial Bowl Championship Series standings released at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

LSU (6-1, 2-1 SEC) next faces No. 20 Texas A&M on Saturday in College Station.

Kickoff will be at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN, it was announced Sunday.
