BATON ROUGE -- Fans will have a chance to meet and greet the LSU men's and women's basketball teams to kickoff the 2012-13 season at "Pass a Good Time" on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The free event will feature fun activities for fans of all ages. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free LSU Stein mug and free food. Fans are asked to RSVP for the event through the LSU Marketing and Promotions office at (225) 578-6884 or promotions@lsu.edu by Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Doors open to the Maravich Center at 5:30 p.m. Both head coaches - Johnny Jones and Nikki Caldwell - will address the fans and there will be a question and answer session with both teams hosted by Gordy Rush. The event concludes with a free autograph session beginning at 7:15 p.m.

"Mike the Tiger", the LSU cheerleaders and "Tiger Girls" will also be on hand.

Season tickets for the 2012-13 LSU men's and women's basketball season go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 10 on www.LSUtix.net.

Jones, who played in the 1981 NCAA Final Four LSU men's basketball team, and served many years as assistant coach under Dale Brown, is in his first year as the men's basketball coach at his alma mater. He is busy putting the foundation in that will put his stamp on the LSU program he knows so well.

Caldwell enters her second season with the Lady Tigers after directing the program to an NCAA Tournament second round appearance and a Southeastern Conference Tournament championship game berth a year ago. Caldwell served as an assistant coach for the gold medal USA U18 FIBA Americas team this summer.
