NEW YORK - After a strong run through the first two rounds of the US Open former LSU men's tennis All-American Ken Skupski and doubles partner Jamie Delgado lost in the Round of 16 on Monday.

One round after knocking off the defending US Open champions, Skupski and Delgado ran into a strong tandem in No. 6 seed Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez, falling 6-2, 6-4 on court 17 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Skupski's appearance in the third round of the doubles draw is the furthest he has advanced in a Grand Slam tournament in his career. His previous best was second round finishes at the Australian Open (2010), French Open (2010) and Wimbledon (2010, '12).
