NEW YORK - Former LSU men's tennis All-American Ken Skupski and partner Jamie Delgado rallied to win their first round doubles match at the 2012 US Open on Thursday.

After dropping the first set to Johan Brunstrom and James Cerretani, Skupski and Delgado roared back to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The win marks Skupski's first career appearance in the second round of the US Open doubles draw after falling in the opening round in 2010.

It is also the second time Skupski, ranked No. 62 in the world in doubles, has advanced to the second round of the doubles draw at a Grand Slam tournament this season as he and Delgado reached the second round at Wimbledon in June before falling to the third-ranked Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike.

Skupski and Delgado will face the defending US Open doubles champions and 10th-seeded duo of Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner in the second round either Saturday or Sunday.
