Two Tigers to Begin NCAA Tennis Singles Draw
ATHENS, Ga. -- The draws for the 2012 NCAA Div. I Men's Tennis Singles Championships were released Tuesday, with the first round of singles set to begin on Wednesday, May 23 at the University of Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Senior Neal Skupski and junior Olivier Borsos were selected to represent the Tigers in the 64-player field.
Both players are set to play on Wednesday, May 23. Skupski will face UCLA's 16th-ranked Nick Meister at 2 p.m. ET, and Borsos will take on No. 8 Blaz Rola of Ohio State at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Skupski, a senior from Liverpool, England, is ranked No. 55 and has etched out a 16-8 record this season. Skupski is 4-2 versus ranked opponents. Overall, he has racked up 76 individual wins during his collegiate career.
Skupski has attended the NCAA Singles Championships before, making his last appearance in 2010 where he fell to North Carolina's Clay Donato, 7-6(2), 6-3, in the first round.
Borsos, ranked No. 35 in the nation, will be making his first trip to the NCAA Singles Championships. He is 12-11 on the season and has played 15 ranked opponents, defeating seven, including then-ranked No. 8 Wil Spencer of Georgia.
