BATON ROUGE - The LSU women's tennis team and the Southeastern Conference office announced the 2013 SEC schedule Thursday.
With the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC, LSU will play 13 conference matches during the season, hosting six SEC foes and playing seven on the road. Each SEC squad will have one bye during the season.
LSU will open SEC play at home against Vanderbilt on March 1 and Kentucky on March 3, and the Lady Tigers will also play home matches against Texas A&M (March 15), Missouri (March 17), Florida (March 29) and South Carolina (March 31).
LSU will travel to Auburn (March 8), Alabama (March 10), Ole Miss (March 22), Mississippi State (March 24), Georgia (April 5), Tennessee (April 7), and the Lady Tigers will end the regular season at Arkansas on April 12.
It will mark two consecutive seasons LSU will travel to Georgia as the Lady Tigers will compete in Athens this Sunday at noon CT.
LSU has squared off 35 times against Texas A&M, including the last 21 seasons, but next year will be the first meeting between LSU and Missouri.
The entire 2012-13 schedule featuring fall tournaments and spring non-conference opponents will be released at a later date.
