Men's Tennis Returns to SEC Action at Tennessee
BATON ROUGE --- The No. 26 LSU men's tennis team will take the courts in Knoxville, Tenn., Friday where they will return to SEC action against the No. 24 Tennessee Volunteers.
LSU (11-5, SEC 2-2) has taken some time off from SEC play, but looks to use the experience gained from facing opponents like No. 2 Ohio State to their advantage.
"Tennessee is coming off a good win against Baylor," head coach Jeff Brown said. "They are a good team and it looks more than likely that we will be playing indoors. We look forward to the challenge and are excited to then get back and face No. 4 Georgia on Sunday."
The 51st-ranked Tiger tandem of Olivier Borsos and Chris Simpson will take the top court against the Volunteers. They are 8-7 in dual play this season. They will need help from the dynamic duo of Neal Skupski and James Turbervill, currently 10-2 on the season, to help clinch the doubles point and give the Tigers an early lead.
In singles, senior Tom Knights looks to continue to stay hot on court five where he is 7-3. Overall, he is 12-3 in dual play and boasts a 3-1 record against SEC opponents.
Tennessee (9-9, SEC 1-3) is led by the 7th-ranked freshman duo of Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese who are currently 19-4 overall this season and 13-2 at the top of the lineup in dual matches.
