BATON ROUGE -- No. 27 LSU (9-4, SEC 2-2), winners of three of their four last matches, will host a doubleheader against Illinois State and St. John's at W.T. 'Dub' Robinson Stadium Thursday.
Coming off a tight 4-3 victory over South Florida, the Tigers look to keep adding to the win column.
"These are two quality opponents," head coach Jeff Brown said. "St. John's is ranked and Illinois State is on the rise. The matches will be very similar to our last match against South Florida, and we will have to play our best to get through."
In doubles, after dropping a few spots, No. 51 Borsos and Chris Simpson are looking to get back on track with some quality wins. The pair is currently 7-5 in dual match play.
Illinois State (4-6) hopes to rebound off a 6-1 loss to No. 72 Tulane. The Redbirds are led by junior Alexander Pelaez.
No. 68 St. John's is currently 9-2 on the season and riding a five-match win streak. Vasko Mlandev, ranked No. 29 in singles, will pose the biggest threat for the Tigers.
The first match against Illinois State has been moved up and will start at 1 p.m. CT. St. John's will still begin at 7 p.m CT.
Free admission and free pizza will be available as always.
