LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The LSU Lady Tigers (5-2) bring a four-match winning streak into the start of Southeastern Conference competition at Kentucky with first serve scheduled for 4 p.m. CT at the Hillary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex on Friday.
"We are excited to start SEC play this weekend," LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. "We are getting about as healthy as we have been in a while and we have been playing really solid recently, so we are looking forward to a good opportunity to face a quality opponent."
Multiple Lady Tigers have been major contributors to LSU's current winning streak, led by Olivia Howlett who has been in top form in singles as she has gone 8-2 in her last 10 including winning four-consecutive matches.
Yvette Vlaar has now emerged victorious in each of her previous four singles appearances as well, in addition to her 7-3 record in the 10 most recent matchups.
Keri Frankenberger has also won seven from her last 10 matches, and Kaitlin Burns has won six of her previous 10 matches as she moved within five victories of 50 for her career last week.
Frankenberger and Whitney Wolf have won four-consecutive doubles matches on court one, and they are also undefeated in tiebreakers this season.
Kentucky leads the all-time series with LSU 17-16. They split a pair of matchups a season ago with the Lady Tigers taking a 5-2 decision at home before Kentucky advanced by a 4-3 margin when the teams met in the SEC tournament 11 days later.
