BATON ROUGE -- The LSU Lady Tigers (1-1) are set for a full day of tennis with a double header against the Rice Owls (2-0) at 2 p.m. CT before they take on the Southern Jaguars at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the W.T. "Dub" Robinson Tennis Stadium.
"We need to bounce back from a tough match against Texas A&M, where they played really well against us," LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. "I feel really confident in this team, we just need to come back and make sure we play two solid matches tomorrow."
The Lady Tigers were in action on Sunday as they fell 5-2 to Texas A&M in their first home match of 2012. Keri Frankenberger and Yvette Vlaar earned LSU's two points of the match in singles.
Frankenberger's triumph took the junior to 35 career singles victories. Vlaar moved within one win of 25 for her career. The sophomore has won six of her last 10 matches dating back to the fall.
Seniors Olivia Howlett and Whitney Wolf are each 7-3 in their last 10 singles matches.
Frankenberger and Wolf have won six of their last 10 doubles tilts together as well.
LSU's all-time record against Southern is 19-0, while the Lady Tigers own a 6-5 all-time advantage over Rice.
