KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- LSU's newest ranked doubles pair Olivier Borsos and Chris Simpson continued to pay dividends as they defeated the No. 39-ranked pair from Denver in the Key Biscayne Invitational earlier today.
Ranked No. 28 by the ITA earlier this week, Borsos and Simpson battled Denver's Jens Vorkefeld and Enej Bonin, claiming the match, 8-6.
Borsos and Simpson were not the only Tiger pair to pick up wins on Saturday as both Neal Skupski and partner James Turbervill as well as the senior dynamic duo of Tom Knights and David Roberts earned wins for the Tigers.
In singles, Roger Anderson, Stefan Scazinski and Knights all finished off their Denver opponents to cap off the day.
The Tigers had seven wins overall on the day.
"It was a solid day for the team," head coach Jeff Brown said. "We picked up some wins and worked to improve on things from yesterday's matches. Overall, it was a good day."
Tournament play for the Tigers will resume tomorrow morning at 7:30 CT.
