Mingo, Wing Named SEC Players of the Week

BATON ROUGE - LSU punter Brad Wing and defensive end Barkevious Mingo have been named players of the week by the Southeastern Conference for their play in the 45-10 win over Auburn, the league office announced on Monday.
Wing was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, while Mingo earned SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors.
Wing, a redshirt freshman from Melbourne, Australia, punted four times against Auburn, averaging 51.2 yards per punt. Three of Wing's four punts were downed inside the 20-yard line forcing Auburn to start drives on its own 4, 14, and 19-yard lines. He had a long punt of 56 yards against the Tigers.
For the season, Wing currently ranks third in the SEC with a 44.4 average on 31 punts.
Mingo had four tackles, including two sacks totaling 21 yards in losses against Auburn. Mingo also added a quarterback hurry as the LSU defense had six sacks and 10 tackles for losses in the 45-7 win over Auburn.
For the season, Mingo leads the Tigers with 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks.
