In flight C singles, Anderson came back from a 6-1 deficit against Arkansas' Victor Hoang to win back-to-back sets, while Turbervill took down Arkansas' Jovan Parlic in straight sets to earn a spot in the finals.
In flight B, Simpson won the first set 6-4, before Rice player Michael Nusslein went down with an injury.
In doubles, the Tigers also had a successful day. LSU won three of its four matches, two of them by a healthy 8-2 margin.
"We started off today doing better stuff in doubles and maintained our high level of play in singles to advance to the finals," head coach Jeff Brown said. "Both Bowtell and Knights came back today and won their matches as well. I am very pleased with our team's overall performance today. Tomorrow we need to get work done, win more matches and hopefully a couple of championships."
The Tigers will begin play Sunday at 10:00 a.m. CT.
