BATON ROUGE, La. - Funeral services for former LSU outfielder Terry Belle will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, La.

Belle, 45, died last Saturday in an automobile accident in Paradise Valley, Ariz. The Shreveport native played at LSU from 1985-88, earning three letters and contributing to the success of the Tigers' first two College World Series teams in 1986 and 1987.

Belle played in 135 games during his LSU career, batting .276 with 13 doubles, three triples, 11 homers and 65 RBI. He enjoyed a superb 1987 postseason, batting .333 in the SEC Tournament and .364 in the College World Series.

Belle's twin brother, Albert, played at LSU from 1985-87, earning all-America and all-SEC recognition. Albert Belle was a five-time American League All-Star with the Cleveland Indians (1993-96) and Chicago White Sox (1997).
