Football Ranked No. 9 in All Major Polls

BATON ROUGE --  After a 33-29 win over then-No. 14 Florida on Saturday night, LSU jumped to No. 9 in this week's Associated Press Top 25, which was released on Sunday morning. The Tigers remained No. 9 USA Today Coaches' Poll, while the Tigers were also ranked No. 9 in the first Harris Interactive Poll of the season.

The Harris Interactive Poll and the coaches' poll are elements of the Bowl Championship Series standings.

With the win over Florida, LSU ran its record to 6-0 overall and remained in first place in the SEC Western Division with a 4-0 league mark. Ohio State moved to the No. 1 spot in the coaches' poll, taking over for Alabama, who lost for the first time this year to South Carolina.

The first BCS rankings of the 2010 season will be released on Oct. 17 at 7:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.

LSU's next opponent is Football Championship Subdivision McNeese State (2-3), which lost in the final minute on Saturday to FCS power Stephen F. Austin, 32-27. Kickoff for the Oct. 16 game in Tiger Stadium will be 6 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Net.
