BATON ROUGE - After dominating the South Alabama Jaguars with an 8-0 win in its season opener Sunday afternoon, the LSU soccer team has jumped two spots to No. 18 in the national rankings with the release of the Soccer Times Top 25 poll on Tuesday morning.

The Tigers, who opened the season ranked No. 20 in the Soccer Times Preseason Top 25, have now been ranked among the Top 20 teams in the country in at least one national ranking in each of the last 10 weeks dating back to the first week of Southeastern Conference play during the 2009 season.

Five of LSU's opponents this fall are also in this week's Soccer Times Top 25 poll, including No. 8 Wake Forest, No. 11 Florida, No. 15 South Carolina, No. 16 BYU and No. 17 Virginia Tech.

The Tigers will kick off a four-game road swing this weekend with a trip to Memphis, Tenn., as they face the Memphis Tigers on Saturday in a match scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. CDT. Memphis has been ranked as high as No. 18 nationally this week in the Soccer America Top 25 released on Monday.
