cLSU has been ranked inside the preseason Top 25 during three of the last four seasons. The defending SEC champions also have spent 36 total weeks among the nation's elite, climbing as high as No. 10 on two occasions since the 2005 season.

The Tigers are joined by Florida (13), Kentucky (14) and Tennessee (19) from the SEC in the poll. LSU also has non-conference tilts slated against New Mexico State, Rice and Texas A&M, all of whom are receiving votes.

"This is certainly a wonderful starting point for our team," head coach Fran Flory said. "Everyone is equal at this point of the season, and we have a challenging schedule ahead of us."

Under Flory, LSU is one of only 20 programs to appear in each of the last five NCAA Tournaments. The Tigers open the 2010 season with Pacific, Siena and Texas A&M on August 27-28 as part of the Texas A&M Invitational.

Season tickets for the defending SEC champions are on-sale now at www.lsutix.net starting at $40 for adults and $25 for youth ages 3-12.
