GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The LSU women's tennis team dropped the doubles point to sixth-ranked Florida and never could get momentum going as the Lady Tigers fell to the Gators, 7-0, Sunday in Gainesville, Fla.

"That's easily the best team we've played this year. I think it's one of the best teams in the country," said head coach Tony Minnis. "We're ready to get back and play at home. We've played the majority of our matches on the road, and we're looking forward to having a nice home stand."

On court two, No. 34 pair Lauren Embree and Anastasia Revzina blanked Keri Frankenberger and Hannah Robinson 8-0. Sixth-ranked Marrit Boonstra and Allie Will clinched the doubles point for the Gators over the Lady Tiger pair of Kaitlin Burns and Whitney Wolf 8-5.

LSU's (2-8, 0-2 SEC)  Ebie Wilson and Nicole Kantor fought hard but were not able to come up with a win as Claire Bartlett and Brittany Borsanyi completed the doubles sweep for UF on court three 8-7(4).

In singles, Burns fell to 11th-ranked Will 6-0, 6-0 on court two. Kantor followed suit on court three as No. 105 Revzina beat the Lady Tiger 6-1, 6-1. On court four, Frankenberger dropped her match to 116th-ranked Hitimana 6-4, 6-1 as the Gator clinched the overall match.

Freshman Wilson fell short to Bartlett 6-0, 6-2 on court five. Kylie Adamek made her Southeastern Conference debut on court six as she lost to Joanna Mather in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

On court one, Florida's (11-2, 2-0 SEC) No. 15 Embree claimed the seventh point for the Gators as she defeated Wolf 6-1, 7-5.

The Lady Tigers will be back in action Friday to take on Mississippi State in Baton Rouge at W.T. "Dub" Robinson Stadium. The match will begin at 3 p.m. CST.
