A proven leader ranked as one of the top 100 prep players in America last season by ESPN.com, Webb is eager to contribute in her first season as a Lady Tiger. She joined LSUsports.net for a question and answer segment.
Q: What was your proudest/most favorite memory or accomplishment from your high school team?
A: “Winning the state championship my sophomore year in 2007 was probably my best memory. I was selected to the All-Tournament team was a great experience.”
Q: What about LSU or LSU’s program stuck out to you?
A: “I was really drawn to LSU’s athletic excellence and traditions in all sports. I wanted to be around the kind of atmosphere where academics and athletics excel.”
Q: What former LSU women’s basketball player do you look up the most to?
A: “I would want to be like Seimone Augustus because she strived to be the best. That’s what I’m hoping to do here. The coaching staff is behind me, and I know they want to bring out the best in me.”
Q: Growing up, was there a specific basketball player that you modeled your game/team work skills off of?
A: “I really looked up to Lisa Leslie when I was growing up. I really liked the way she played because of the passion she had playing the game.”
Q: Tell me about your experiences volunteering with the Big Brother/Big Sister program.
A: “I really like working with kids, so I worked with a lot of them and not just one specific child. I really enjoyed working with the Big Brother/Big Sister program and making a difference in kids’ lives. We would go to the kids’ school in the mornings and play little board games with them and just talk to them to see how they were doing.”
Q: What are your goals individually and for the team this season?
A: “My personal goal is to get better and try to give it my all. We really want to get back to another Final Four and win a national championship.”
