BATON ROUGE – LSU men’s basketball coach Johnny Jones will appear with ESPN basketball analyst Andy Katz on Friday night on a special 90-minute edition of Katz Corner on ESPNU beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Jones will appear in the first half hour of the show in a segment of the show that will also include Jim Boeheim of Syracuse, Phil Martelli of St. Joseph’s and Craig Neal of New Mexico. The segments were all taped Wednesday at a hotel in North Augusta, S.C. where the NIKE Peach Jam is being contested this weekend.
Jones is entering his third season as the head coach of the Tigers after winning 20 games last year and advancing to the second round of the NIT. The former LSU player and assistant coach is only the second head coach at LSU to go to post-season play in his first two seasons and the first in the Southeastern Conference era of LSU basketball to have winning seasons in both his first two seasons as head coach of the Tigers.
LSU will return Southeastern Conference first teamer Jordan Mickey and All-SEC freshman team member Jarell Martin for their sophomore campaign and they will be joined by another strong recruiting class.
Ticket deposits for the 2014-15 season are being accepted as part of the “Unleash The Madness” campaign. Deposits for new tickets are available for $20 at LSUsports.net/madness.
