BATON ROUGE, La. - The Lady Tigers (5-2) will travel to No. 32 Rice University (5-4) to face the Owls at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT.
"Rice is a team who has really improved over the last few years under the direction of a new coach, Elizabeth Schmidt," head coach Julia S. Sell said. "Last year they made program history by making the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time ever. They are a solid team with no huge weakness, which means our team is going to have to work for every point and execute with confidence."
LSU returned to the "Dub" Saturday after a weekend on the West Coast and claimed a 6-1 win over McNeese State University. The Mary Jeremiah and Ariel Morton doubles matchup notched another victory, advancing the pair to a six-match winning streak and earning the duo's fifth consecutive win in the top spot. The doubles pairing of Ella Taylor and Kaitlin Burns made its second appearance this season and tallied another win for an overall 2-0 record. Senior Ebie Wilson also highlighted the day's win with her third double-bagel victory this season.
The Lady Tigers hold an overall 6-6 record against the Owls, who they last met in 2012.
