BATON ROUGE - LSU's 2011 Southeastern Conference Championship in football will be celebrated prior to the start of the annual National L-Club Spring Game on Saturday, March 31 in Tiger Stadium.

The SEC Championship Celebration will start at 12:30 p.m. with kickoff for the spring game to follow. Admission to the spring game is free. Gates to Tiger Stadium open at 11 a.m. and seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The pre-game ceremony will also include recognition of LSU's three 2011 national award winners - head coach Les Miles, and defensive backs Morris Claiborne and Tyrann Mathieu - for their accomplishments in 2011. Miles was named National Coach of the Year by three organizations, including the Associated Press, while Mathieu won the Bednarik Trophy as the nation's top defender and Claiborne the Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back.

There will also be a video tribute recapping the 2011 season with the ceremony culminating with the raising of the 2011 SEC Championship Flag in the south endzone.

The spring game will be played as a regular game with four quarters and the teams being split into a purple team and white team. There will be no television for this year's spring game.

Outside the stadium prior to the game, fans will be able to enjoy a morning of family entertainment at the Fan Fest, which will be held in Lot A at Tiger Stadium. Fan Fest opens at 10 a.m. and will feature live music, inflatables and face-painting for the kids, a variety of food vendors, as well as other activities.

There will also be a special event for members of Mike's Kids Club presented by Borden that day.

Other activities on campus that day include the LSU softball team hosting Arkansas at 4:30 p.m. at Tiger Park followed by the Tiger baseball team hosting the Razorbacks at 7 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.

"This will be a great day for our fans to come out and celebrate the accomplishments of the 2011 team while also getting a look at what next year's team has to offer," Miles said. "The National L-Club Spring Game is something that we want to grow into a special event each year on campus. We hope our fans come out and celebrate the day with us."
